On Wednesday 5th October we officially opened the newly refurbished Coffee Dock at our Belmont Nursing Home facility. This re-vamp of the area was a very important part of the ongoing Catering Review project being overseen by our Quality Department. The object was to make the offer and display more in line with an Urban coffee shop and make it a destination where residents can relax in a clean and well-presented environment. The Coffee Dock is a very popular area where residents can enjoy complimentary coffee and meet with family, friends or other residents.
The review of the area included a re-design of the counter and wall panels, implementing a new menu with increased convenient products, new service equipment and style, well presented hydration station with the highlight being introducing a brand new coffee offer. After meeting a number of potential suppliers, we decided to work with Java Republic for the supply of coffee. Java Republic are a local supplier who supply Nationally to hotels, restaurants and coffee shops. All their coffee beans are roasted in their North Dublin roastery which is the only carbon neutral roastery in the world!!
The Day was a huge success with our residents who were invited down to the area with families for a party atmosphere with live music and an amazing finger buffet provided by our emeis Culinary Support Team. Our Senior Team also attended the event and met with Residents, Staff and Families and chatted over the amazing culinary treats. Our CEO, Neal McGroarty was very happy with the developments on site and hard work put in by the local Catering Team led by Jackie Delaney (Catering Mgr). “It was very evident from talking to our residents today that the changes in the area will really make a difference to our residents daily experience in Belmont Nursing Home. The great feedback is testament to all the ongoing hard work of all the Belmont Staff and support Teams”.
